Usage
One cup of uncooked rice yields approximately 3 cups of cooked rice. Rinse the rice thoroughly in a sieve until the water runs clear. Place the rice in a pan. Add 2.5 cups of water for every cup of rice. Bring to the boil. Then reduce the heat and keep the water at a simmer. Cover the pan with a lid. Cook until the rice is tender and the water has been absorbed. Drain if necessary. Allow the rice to rest for at least 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork and serving.
For a different flavour, the rice can also be cooked in stock.
