How it works

The active ingredient in this medicine is fexofenadine hydrochloride. This is a modern antihistamine that specifically blocks the action of histamine, the substance in the body responsible for the typical allergic reactions in hay fever. By inhibiting this reaction, the medicine helps to reduce the sensitivity of the mucous membranes in the nose and eyes. Ingredients

Tablet core: microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinised maize starch, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate. Tablet coating: hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, povidone, titanium dioxide (E171), colloidal silicon dioxide, macrogol 400, iron oxide (E172).

Use & Dosage

Adults and children from 12 years take 1 tablet (120 mg) once daily with a sufficient amount of water. The maximum dosage is 1 tablet per day. If symptoms do not improve within 14 days, you should consult a doctor. Always read the package leaflet before use and pay attention to the maximum daily dose.

This medicine must not be used during pregnancy and the breastfeeding period.

When using stomach tablets containing aluminium or magnesium, there should be at least 2 hours between the intake of these medicines and this medicine. This medicine affects the results of allergy tests; therefore, stop using it three days before a test.

Consult a GP in case of tightness of the chest, shortness of breath, very swollen eyes with coloured eye discharge, symptoms on only one side of the nose, or in case of moderate to severe symptoms where this medicine does not provide sufficient relief. This also applies to pregnant women experiencing these symptoms for the first time, and in case of specific reactions to the oak processionary moth (such as swelling of lips, tongue, or eyelids, or persistent eye complaints after rinsing).
