How it works
Voltaren Emulgel extra strength contains the active ingredient diclofenac diethylammonium, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Unlike tablets, this gel is applied directly to the skin over the painful area. The active ingredient penetrates deep into the underlying tissues to tackle the source of the pain there. This targeted approach is specifically intended for joint pain caused by a worsening of osteoarthritis in the knees or fingers.

Ingredients
butylhydroxytoluene, carbomer, cocoyl caprylocaprate, diethylamine, isopropyl alcohol, liquid paraffin, macrogol cetostearyl ether, oleyl alcohol, propylene glycol, eucalyptus sting perfume and purified water.
Use & Dosage
For adults: Apply the gel every 12 hours (preferably in the morning and evening) to the painful area. The maximum dosage is 2 times per 24 hours. Open and close the packaging according to the instructions in the leaflet. Rub the gel in gently. The required amount varies depending on the size of the painful area; normally an amount in the order of a cherry to a walnut is sufficient. Wash hands after application, unless the hands are the area to be treated. Consult a doctor if no improvement is noticeable after 7 days.

Do not use if you have an allergy to diclofenac, ibuprofen, acetylsalicylic acid or other substances in this medicine. Do not use during the third trimester of pregnancy. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, use only on the strict advice of a doctor. Do not apply to damaged skin, eyes, nose or mucous membranes. Contains butylhydroxytoluene and propylene glycol, which may cause skin irritation. Stop use immediately if a skin rash occurs and contact a doctor.
