Important information about Natterman Bronchicum Extra Strength:
This product is specifically intended for the relief of dry cough symptoms and contains codeine phosphate hemihydrate (0.5 mg per ml syrup).
Do not use if:
- You are allergic to the ingredients.
- Children under 12 years of age.
- You are a fast metaboliser of codeine into morphine, are breastfeeding, or have reduced respiratory reserve (e.g. asthma, emphysema).
- Liver dysfunction or a skull injury.
Take extra care:
- This medicine may reduce reaction speed (dangerous when driving or operating machinery). Read the patient information leaflet.
- Stop immediately if constipation occurs and consult a doctor. May be addictive.
- Do not use during pregnancy (unless strictly advised by a doctor) or breastfeeding.
- Consult a doctor for persistent symptoms, rapid or difficult breathing, shortness of breath, confusion or drowsiness, coughing up blood, symptoms in those under 3 months or over 75 years of age, or if the cough is a side effect of medication (e.g. blood pressure lowering drugs).
- Do not use when coughing up a lot of mucus. Elderly patients may have a stronger reaction; stop use if feeling dull, dizzy, or sleepy.
- May cause gastrointestinal complaints and diarrhoea. Do not combine with alcohol or certain medicines (see leaflet).
Dosage for adults: 20 ml per dose, maximum 4 times per day (maximum 4 times per 24 hours). Use the provided measuring cup. Do not use for longer than 14 days without medical advice if there is no improvement.
