Nicotinell Mint belongs to the group of medicines used as an aid to stop smoking. By sucking on the lozenge, the active ingredient nicotine is slowly released. Ingredients
Maltitol (E965), anhydrous sodium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate polyacrylate, xanthan gum, anhydrous colloidal silica, levomenthol, peppermint oil, aspartame (E951) and magnesium stearate.
Use & Dosage
Always use Nicotinell Mint lozenge exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Suck on a lozenge whenever you feel the urge to smoke. In general, one lozenge should be used every hour or every two hours. Normally, 8 to 12 lozenges per day are sufficient. If you still feel the urge to smoke, you may suck on extra lozenges. Do not use more than 24 lozenges per day of the 1 mg lozenges. Do not use more than 1 lozenge per hour. Suck on the lozenge until the taste becomes strong, then let it rest between the gum and cheek. When the taste disappears, suck on the lozenge again. Repeat this until the lozenge is completely dissolved (approximately 30 minutes). Gradually reduce the dosage after 3 months.

Consult a GP when using medicines such as theophylline, antidepressants, antipsychotics, beta-blockers, medicines for heart rhythm disorders or cancer. In case of (severe) asthma or COPD, heart disease and/or diabetes. In case of previous failed attempts to stop smoking. Do not use in case of heart disease, history of stroke, circulatory problems, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes, kidney or liver problems, inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract. Do not take simultaneously with coffee or acidic drinks. Do not use for longer than 9 months.
