Medela Hydrogel Pads use the principles of moist wound healing, a scientifically supported method to help the skin barrier recover quickly and efficiently. The sterile pads absorb excess moisture while keeping the skin supple, which prevents the formation of hard scabs and maintains the elasticity of the nipple skin. By storing the pads chilled, the pain-relieving and vasoconstrictive effect of the cold is optimally utilised to immediately reduce swelling and irritation after feeding.

Usage & Dosage

Wash your hands first, then open the pouch and remove the hydrogel pad from the plastic liner. Gently place the gel side of the pad directly onto your nipple. If you need to breastfeed your baby, simply remove the hydrogel pad and place it on a clean surface. Then, gently wash your breast with warm water and pat it dry before breastfeeding. When you are finished, reapply the gel pad with clean hands. You can reuse one hydrogel pad within a 24-hour period. Store the pad in a cool, clean, and dry place between uses. You do not need to wash the pad with soap or detergent. You can store hydrogel pads in the refrigerator for an extra cooling effect, but keep them out of reach of any other children in your home. And in the unlikely event that the clear hydrogel pad starts to look cloudy or milky, discard the pad and use a new one.
