Orthica Folic Acid 800
A high-dose folic acid supplement. Intended for women of childbearing age who wish to become pregnant. Also contains vitamin B12.
Contains no yeast, sucrose, synthetic preservatives, or synthetic colours, fragrances, or flavours.
Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Supplemental folic acid intake increases maternal folate status. Low maternal folate status is a risk factor in the development of neural tube defects in the developing foetus. The beneficial effect is obtained with a supplemental folic acid daily intake of 400 mcg for at least one month before and up to three months after conception. There are multiple risk factors for the development of neural tube defects. Altering one of these factors may or may not have a beneficial effect.
Vitamin B12 contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and has a positive influence on the immune system.
Finally, vitamin B12 also contributes to brain and nerve functions involved in concentration.
