How it works
Acetylcysteine is a derivative of the natural amino acid cysteine. It acts directly on the structure of the mucus in the airways. By breaking down the chemical bonds in the thick mucus, the viscosity changes. As a result, the mucus loses its stickiness and the transport mechanism of the lungs can move it upwards more easily. This process helps to clear the airways and supports the recovery of free breathing.
