The action of Advancis Activon Manuka Honey Gel is based on the unique, scientifically recognised properties of pure Manuka honey from New Zealand. The honey is specially filtered and sterilised for medical use. Due to the high sugar concentration, the gel draws moisture from the surrounding tissue via osmosis, causing dead tissue (debris) to loosen and be easily removed. This process supports the body in cleaning the wound bed, while the naturally present antibacterial components protect the wound against infections.

Remove the cap, apply generously to the wound bed to a minimum depth of 5mm and cover with a secondary dressing. Activon Tube is for single patient use; use within four days after opening. Use Activon Tube in combination with Algivon for debriding and removing slough. For wounds with a high level of exudate, a super-absorbent dressing can be used to manage the exudate.
Although honey is not absorbed into the bloodstream, we advise monitoring glucose levels in diabetic patients. Do not use if the patient is allergic to bee venom. Some discomfort may occur when applying the honey. This depends on the sensitivity of the wound and can be remedied with the correct level of analgesia. The initial discomfort generally subsides on its own. If the discomfort persists, the application of honey should be discontinued and the wound should then be rinsed with a saline solution.

Store closed at room temperature, out of reach of children. Due to the properties of honey, it may solidify in the cold and become more liquid in heat. If the product has become hard, warm the tube between two hands just before use. If the honey gel is too liquid, place it in the fridge for a few minutes.
