GLA (gamma-linolenic acid) is an omega-6 fatty acid derived from plant seeds such as evening primrose and borage. This fatty acid is rarely found in the daily diet. The body can produce GLA itself from linoleic acid, but in certain situations, additional GLA is recommended to supplement the diet.
