How it works

Making this very coarse bamboo salt requires exceptionally much experience and patience. Sea salt is firmly pressed into tubes of three-year-old bamboo and sealed with mineral-rich red mountain clay. Subsequently, it is heated, ground, and reheated up to nine times over an intense fire of pine wood for 8 to 15 hours. During this process, the sulphur-rich bamboo carbonises, allowing the salt to absorb the essential juices and minerals from both the bamboo and the red clay deep into its structure.
