Bromhexine hydrochloride is a mucolytic, a substance that affects the structure of thick mucus in the lungs. By lowering the viscosity of the mucus, it becomes more fluid. Ingredients
Bromhexine hydrochloride, maize starch, lactose, gelatin (E485), talc (E553b), and magnesium stearate (E470b).
Use & Dosage
Take the tablets with some water. The usual dosage is:
Adults and children over 10 years: 3 times daily 1/2 to 2 tablets.
Children aged 5 to 10 years: 3 times daily 1/2 to 1 tablet.
The lowest dosage applies to the youngest children in the age group. If there is no improvement in symptoms, do not use for longer than 14 days without the advice of a doctor. Pay attention to the maximum daily dosage of 3 doses per 24 hours.

Do not use if allergic to any of the substances in this medicine or in children under 2 years of age. This medicine is not suitable for children under 5 years of age. Must NOT be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult a doctor before use if taking antibiotics; this can increase the levels of antibiotics in the lungs. Be aware of an increase in mucus released. Consult a doctor in case of persistent symptoms, coughing up blood, shortness of breath, fever, or for persons younger than 3 months or older than 75 years.
