The scent of cinnamon leaf oil is somewhat reminiscent of the scent of clove oil. This is due to the fragrance component eugenol. This is exactly why cinnamon leaf oil is slightly less sweet than cinnamon bark oil.
The cinnamon tree is a giant tree, reaching a height of no less than 18 metres. It is an evergreen tree, the bark is light brown and the leaves are long and aromatic.
The yield of cinnamon leaf oil is just over 1.5%. This means you need about 60 kg of leaves to make 1 litre of cinnamon leaf oil.
