Enjoying a delicious cup of coffee or a hot cup of tea every day is a fixed and relaxing ritual in many households. However, heating tap water creates an unnoticed build-up of limescale and scale in your coffee machine and kettle. This limescale not only attacks the heating elements, causing your appliances to use more energy and break down faster, but also negatively affects the pure taste of your hot drinks. HG Descaler offers the ideal, reliable support to keep your equipment in top condition. By descaling regularly, you maintain the efficiency of your appliances and enjoy the full taste of your coffee and tea every day.
HG Descaler is formulated based on glycolic acid, a powerful organic acid that breaks down limescale and scale in a mild yet extremely effective way and turns it into liquid. This allows the built-up limescale to flush away effortlessly without damaging the internal pipes of your equipment. By removing the limescale layer from the heating elements, heat can again be transferred directly and efficiently to the water, which optimises the operation of your appliances.

The descaling method varies depending on the type of appliance.
Descaling a coffee machine:
1. Dilute 50ml of the HG descaler with half a litre of water and carefully pour the coffee machine descaler into the reservoir of the coffee machine.
2. Let the appliance work as if you were normally making coffee.
3. Pour the solution away down the drain. If the appliance does not flow sufficiently, repeat the treatment with a new mixture of coffee machine descaler.
4. Finally, let the appliance run three times with clean water so that no limescale residues or an aftertaste remain.
Descaling a kettle:
1. Dilute 50ml of the HG descaler with half a litre of water and carefully pour it into the kettle.
2. Do not turn the appliance on, but let the liquid work cold for approximately 40 minutes.
3. Pour the solution away down the drain. If the limescale has not been sufficiently removed, repeat the treatment with descaler.
4. Finally, rinse the appliance well after the treatment.
5. The kettle is now ready for use again.
Descaling a washing machine:
1. Add the HG descaler to the washing powder compartment. In soft water areas 100ml and in hard water areas 200ml.
2. Turn on the shortest programme with a temperature of 60°C.
3. Halfway through the programme, turn off the appliance and wait approximately 20 minutes so that the washing machine descaler can work properly.
4. After 20 minutes, let the appliance finish the programme.
5. The washing machine is now ready for use again.
Transport and store the bottle upright. Do not use in pod coffee machines and on acid-sensitive surfaces, such as aluminium, zinc, and enamel. Never use a descaling liquid for steam irons, including HG descaler. For descaling espresso and pod coffee machines, use HG coffee machine descaler citric acid. Limescale attacks the heating element. Therefore, descale your hot-water equipment regularly so that limescale cannot attack your element.
