Metamucil Sugar Free Orange, 3.4 g/sachet, powder for oral suspension
Metamucil Sugar Free mixes with the intestinal contents and has the ability to absorb water.
This ensures a soft, non-irritating filling of the bowel, which stimulates bowel activity
and therefore promotes bowel movements.

What is this medicine used for
Long-lasting or recurrent constipation.

Do not use if

• You are allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine.

• In case of a sudden change in bowel habits lasting longer than 2 weeks.

• In case of rectal bleeding that has not yet been diagnosed and inability to have a bowel movement after using a medicine that stimulates bowel movements (laxative).

• In case of sudden abdominal pain.

• In case of narrowing or obstruction of the gastrointestinal tract.

• Difficulty swallowing or another throat problem.

• In cases of phenylketonuria in children and pregnant women.

• In children under 6 years of age, only on prescription from your doctor.

Take extra care

#Consult a doctor before use if you have diabetes mellitus.

Other information
Consult your general practitioner:
When using a medicine that may cause constipation (see the package leaflet). If a laxative has already been used for several days without success. If it concerns children for whom dietary advice or laxative lemonade syrup has not led to improvement. In case of constipation accompanied by cramping abdominal pain combined with vomiting and a bloated feeling. In case of overflow diarrhea (frequent occurrence of a brown stain in underwear or diaper or frequent small amounts of thin watery stool).

Do not use with
Do not take at the same time as other medicines, but half an hour before or after administration.

Use for
Long-lasting or recurrent constipation.

Ispaghula husk anhydricum 3.4 g/sachet

Excipients
Anhydrous citric acid (E330), citrus flavouring (for Metamucil Sugar Free Lemon) or orange flavouring (for Metamucil Sugar Free Orange), aspartame, maltodextrin and sunset yellow FCF (E110)

Dosage
Adults and children from 12 years
Two to three sachets per day (divided over 1–3 intakes).

Children from 6–12 years
Maximum one sachet per day (divided over 1–2 intakes).

Children under 6 years
Only on doctor’s prescription!

Maximum dosage
2–3, depending on age.

Instructions for use
Place the contents of the sachet in a glass, slowly fill with water, stir well and drink immediately; try to avoid inhaling the powder while dissolving. If there is no improvement of the complaint, do not use for longer than 7 days without consulting a doctor.
Read the package leaflet before use.
Observe the maximum daily dosage.
