Healthypharm Bromhexine HCl 8 mg/5 ml oral solution is a mucolytic. This product is specifically developed to facilitate coughing up in cases of a chesty cough caused by thick mucus.

Important information before use:

• Do not use this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or for children under 2 years of age.
• Take extra care and consult a doctor if using antibiotics at the same time.
• This product must not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
• Consult your GP if you experience rapid or difficult breathing, shortness of breath, drowsiness, cough up blood, if the patient is under 3 months or over 75 years old, if the cough is a side effect of medication (such as certain blood pressure lowering drugs), or if the cough lasts longer than three weeks.
• Be aware of a possible increase in released mucus. Consult a doctor if cough symptoms persist, recur, or worsen.
• Concurrent use of bromhexine and certain antibiotics (amoxicillin, erythromycin, doxycycline, cefuroxime) can lead to higher antibiotic levels in the lung tissue. This medicine may have a mild laxative effect.
