How it works

These spoons use a thermochromic material that reacts to temperatures above body temperature (37 degrees Celsius). As soon as the spoon comes into contact with food that is too hot, a visible colour change occurs as a warning to the parent. In addition, the soft material has been deliberately chosen to facilitate the transition from breastfeeding or bottle-feeding to a spoon. These spoons are suitable for use with children from 3 months. They are not intended for them to handle these spoons themselves. It goes without saying that these spoons are only used during eating. Not before or after as a teething toy. The soft material has been specially developed for sensitive gums in young children. As a result, the spoon itself is also more susceptible to brittleness. It is possible that the spoons discolour due to certain foods, such as carrots, tomato sauce and sweet potatoes. This is due to strong colourants (e.g. carotene) in the food and has no influence on the functioning of the spoon. This is not harmful and does not give off any taste or smell.
