Ingredients
One millilitre of Betadine solution contains 100 mg povidone-iodine. Excipients: disodium phosphate (E339), lauromacrogols (polyoxyethylene lauryl alcohol ether), glycerol (E422), sodium hydroxide (E524), citric acid (E330), potassium iodate, and purified water.
Use & Dosage
For the disinfection of superficial wounds and burns, Betadine solution must be applied undiluted to the areas to be treated. It is necessary to cover the entire affected area with, for example, a plaster or gauze. You must treat the wounds until there are no more signs of infection or until there is no longer a clear risk that the edges of the wound will become infected. For severely inflamed or moist wounds, apply every 4-6 hours to maintain the best effect. When the brown colour fades, the solution should be reapplied. Avoid regular or prolonged application of large amounts on extensive skin areas in elderly patients who are prone to hyperthyroidism and in patients with kidney function disorders. In newborns, use must be kept to an absolute minimum.

Do not use if allergic to povidone-iodine or other ingredients. Do not use on large skin areas if you have a thyroid disorder. Stop use immediately in case of redness, itching, or pain. Consult a doctor for severe burns, large blisters, or wounds in sensitive areas such as the face. Avoid prolonged exposure of large amounts on the skin. Be careful in cases of kidney problems or use of products containing mercury. Do not use for the prevention of tetanus. For external use only.
