Zincatest® can be used in two ways:
a). As a food supplement: take 1 teaspoon (5 ml) daily with a meal or as directed by your doctor. If desired, you can dissolve it in water or orange juice.
b). As a taste test (to determine zinc status) at least one hour after eating or drinking: take a teaspoon with 5 ml of Zincatest, stir this into 60 ml of water and immediately rinse 5 ml of the diluted mixture in the mouth for 10 seconds (then swallow or spit out). Make a fresh mixture every time you perform a test. The taste sensation resulting from this test provides an indication of zinc status.
1. Negative or low: tastes like water
2. Moderately negative or low: a dry, furry, mineral-like, sweet taste
3. Moderately positive: clear taste that becomes increasingly stronger
4. Positive: immediately a strong, unpleasant taste.
In case of taste sensation 1 or 2, continue with the recommended daily use of Zincatest or another zinc supplement until taste sensation 3 or 4 is experienced. Three to six months of supplementation may be necessary.
Store in a dry place at room temperature.
After opening, store in the refrigerator and consume within 30 days.
