Leidapharm Paracetamol belongs to the group of analgesic and antipyretic medicines. The active ingredient paracetamol influences the signals in the body that regulate pain and temperature, which reduces pain perception and normalises body temperature in case of fever. Rectal administration via a suppository ensures even absorption by the body through the mucous membranes. This makes it an extremely reliable method when the stomach needs to be spared or when swallowing is difficult.

Paracetamol, colloidal silicon dioxide, hard fat.
Use & Dosage
Insert anally with the pointed end first. Moistening the suppository facilitates insertion. Always maintain an interval of at least 6 hours between two doses. The dosage also depends on body weight:
- Children aged 6 to 9 years: one 500 mg suppository, 2 to 3 times a day.
- Children aged 9 to 12 years: one 500 mg suppository, 3 times a day.
- Adults: one 500 mg or 1000 mg suppository, up to a maximum of 4000 mg per day.
Do not exceed the stated maximum dosage. Do not use in combination with other products containing paracetamol. In case of worsening symptoms or persistent pain, do not use for longer than 5 days. In case of persistent fever, do not use for longer than 3 days. Do not use for longer than 14 days without the advice of a doctor. Read the package leaflet before use.
Safety & Disclaimer
Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in this medicine. It is important not to use too much, because exceeding the dosage can cause liver and kidney problems. With prolonged use for headaches, this medicine carries a risk of developing medication-overuse headache. Stop use immediately if you develop a skin rash or sores in the mouth and contact a doctor immediately. Consult a GP if the pain or fever has not subsided after 5 days, in children over 4 years of age if symptoms persist after 5 days, or if you need painkillers for headaches for more than 15 days per month. Do not use in case of liver or kidney function disorders, unless strictly advised by a doctor. Do not use in combination with alcohol. In case of heavy and prolonged alcohol consumption, do not use more than 2 grams of paracetamol per day. Do not use simultaneously with certain other medicines (see package leaflet). During pregnancy and breastfeeding, this medicine may be used, provided it is for as short a time as possible and in the lowest possible dosage.
