How it works
Mebendazole is an anthelmintic, a medicine specifically developed to combat worm infections in the body. It disrupts the absorption of nutrients by the worm, causing it to die. Because this medicine also tackles the eggs and larvae, it helps to break the cycle of the infection. Ingredients
Each tablet contains 100 mg mebendazole. The excipients are LACTOSE monohydrate, potato starch, sodium starch glycolate, sodium saccharin, polyvidone (E1202), talc, colloidal anhydrous silica (E551), magnesium stearate (E470b), orange flavouring and sunset yellow FCF Aluminium lake (E110).
Use & Dosage
The dosage below applies to both children from 2 years of age and adults. The tablets can be taken with some water or chewed. No special diet or laxative needs to be prescribed. If the worm infection is accompanied by diarrhoea, the symptoms of this should be treated at the same time. Infections with pinworms: 1 tablet and after 14 days another 1 tablet, repeat every 14 days if necessary. Infections with roundworms, whipworms and hookworms: 1 tablet in the morning and 1 tablet in the evening, for 3 consecutive days.
