Nutricia Nutilis Powder is an advanced dietary food for dysphagia specifically designed to increase the viscosity of liquids and food. By adding a specific combination of modified maize starch, tara gum, xanthan gum and guar gum, the powder binds quickly to liquid molecules. This slows down the flow rate of the food in the mouth and throat, allowing the swallowing reflex to occur more safely and in a more controlled manner without the food becoming liquid due to salivary enzymes.

Use & Dosage

Number of measuring scoops required for thickening (1 scoop = 4 grams)*.

200 ml (Drinks: coffee, tea, water, juice, milk):
Stage 1 Syrup consistency: 2-3 scoops, Stage 2 Custard consistency: 3-4 scoops, Stage 3 Pudding consistency: 4-5 scoops.

200 ml (Nutritional drinks):
Stage 1 Syrup consistency: 2-3 scoops, Stage 2 Custard consistency: 3-5 scoops, Stage 3 Pudding consistency: 5-7 scoops.

100 grams (Pureed meals):
Stage 1 Syrup consistency:, Stage 2 Custard consistency: 1 scoop, Stage 3 Pudding consistency: 1.5 scoops.

*The required amount may vary slightly depending on the temperature or thickness of the liquid and the desired viscosity.

Instructions for use:
Can be added to cold and hot drinks, nutritional drinks, soup and pureed dishes. Retains the taste of the dish or drink.
Thickened food can be heated, cooled or frozen without affecting the consistency.
Use only the provided measuring scoop.

Wash your hands, use clean utensils and ensure the top of the packaging is clean.
Add the prescribed amount of powder to the liquid or pureed meal and mix well with a shaker, whisk or fork.
Leave to stand for a few minutes to reach the desired consistency.
Do not add extra powder during this waiting time as the food will thicken further.
Prepare the food per portion and use within 2 hours.
Always discard unused food. Once opened, close the tin tightly.
