De Peuleschil Organic Sprouting Seed Mix

Enrich your meals with this organic sprouting mix from De Peuleschil, rich in nutrients and flavour. Easy to grow at home.

Ingredients
Alfalfa seed, mountain lentils and radish seed.

Usage

1. Place one or two tablespoons of seeds in a preserving jar and add plenty of lukewarm/warm water. (Any glass jar is suitable, provided it is large enough – min. 1.5 litres – and the neck does not narrow too much.)
2. Secure a piece of plastic or fibreglass mesh over the jar using a strong elastic band. Preferably do not use aluminium mesh, as this is sometimes treated against insects.
3. Drain the water after the specified soaking time (approximately 6 hours), rinse the seeds and drain the water again.
4. Place the jar upside down at an angle at room temperature in a colander, rack or bowl so that excess water can drain away.

   It is important that all water can drain away; the water clinging to the sprouts is sufficient to keep the sprouting process going. It is also important that the seeds/sprouts do not cover the entire mesh. Sufficient air supply is vital for a good result. Therefore, distribute the seeds/sprouts along the length of the jar after each rinse.

   Do not place the jar with seeds/sprouts on a radiator or in direct sunlight!

5. Rinse the seeds/sprouts approximately 3 times a day during the specified growing period (about 4 days) and always return the jar to its angled, upside-down position.
6. After the final rinse*, leave the sprouts in the jar (angled upside down) at room temperature for at least 18 hours to grow dry...
