Instant Green Tea (Pu-erh)
Pu-erh tea, derived from the Camellia sinensis tea plant from the Chinese province of Yunnan, differs from regular green tea due to a unique fermentation process. While green tea is dried immediately after picking, Pu-erh tea is aged for a long period under high humidity. This process, where fungi and bacteria convert substances, gives the tea its characteristic dark red colour and full, rich, earthy flavour. The fermentation can last from months to years; the older the tea, the smoother the taste.
