What is this medicine used for?
Used for heartburn, acid reflux, stomach ulcers or duodenal ulcers, inflammation of the stomach lining (gastritis), to prevent stomach complaints, to prevent stress-induced ulcers of the oesophagus and duodenum, and/or to prevent bleeding from these ulcers.

Do not use if:

• You are allergic to any of the ingredients in this medicine.
• Your kidney function is severely impaired.
• You have low phosphate levels in your blood. This can occur through long-term use combined with a low-phosphate diet. Possible symptoms include loss of appetite (anorexia) and muscle weakness.

Take extra care with:
Warning: Use with caution in young children due to the risk of excessive magnesium levels in the blood. Do not use in combination with certain (prescription) medicines; see the patient information leaflet.

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding:
This medicine may be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Other information: consult a GP if:

• Children with stomach complaints (pain in the upper abdomen).
• People who experience difficulty swallowing food (it does not pass easily down the oesophagus).
• People who have been treated for a stomach or duodenal ulcer less than one year ago.
