Application:

Teva Loperamide HCl 2 mg capsules are used for acute or chronic diarrhoea in adults and children from 8 years of age. The product stops diarrhoea by normalising bowel movements.

Important warnings and contraindications:

• Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to any of the ingredients, or for children under 2 years of age. Capsules are not suitable for children under 8 years of age.
• Stop immediately in case of skin rash, itching, shortness of breath, a swollen face (hypersensitivity) and consult a doctor.
• Do not use in case of suspected poisoning as the cause of diarrhoea, a severely dilated colon (megacolon), or if you actually have a bowel obstruction with "leaking" watery stools.
• Avoid use in case of persistent abdominal pain, high fever, mucus and/or blood in the stool (possibly due to food poisoning, infection, or inflammation).
