Ingredients
LACTOSE monohydrate, maize starch, magnesium stearate (E572), colloidal silicon dioxide (anhydrous) (E551). Capsule shell: sunset yellow FCF (E110), patent blue (E131), titanium dioxide (E171), black iron oxide (E172), gelatin (E441). Ink: titanium dioxide (E171), shellac (E904), propylene glycol (E1520), sodium hydroxide (E524), povidone (E1201).
Use & Dosage
Adults with acute diarrhoea: start with 2 capsules (4 mg). Then take 1 capsule (2 mg) after each subsequent loose stool. Maximum 8 capsules per day. For chronic diarrhoea: start with 2 capsules per day and adjust until you have solid stool 1 to 2 times a day (usually 1 to 6 capsules per day). Children from 8 years: start with 1 capsule (2 mg). Then 1 capsule after each loose stool. The maximum number depends on weight: 20-27 kg (max 3), 27-34 kg (max 4), 34-40 kg (max 5), 40-47 kg (max 6), 47-54 kg (max 7), >54 kg (max 8). Keep at least 2 hours between intakes.
Safety & Disclaimer
Do not use if allergic to the substances, in children under 2 years (capsules not under 8 years), in case of possible poisoning, megacolon, obstruction, persistent abdominal pain with fever/blood/mucus, severe intestinal inflammation or bacterial infections. Do not use during pregnancy (unless on advice of a doctor) or breastfeeding. Risk of dehydration: drink 2 litres of water per day. Consult a doctor if you have HIV, use other medication (the pill, blood thinners, heart medication) or if complaints persist. Acute diarrhoea should improve within 48 hours.
