With the exception of tea tree and lavender, essential oils should not be applied pure to the skin. Should an essential oil accidentally get into the eyes or cause irritation, apply a fatty vegetable oil to the area immediately. In case of accidental internal use: drink a few sips of fatty vegetable oil immediately. Essential oils dissolve best in, for example, olive or sunflower oil and have an immediate soothing effect. Then warn a doctor immediately! Essential oils can only be used for internal use under expert guidance. The aromatherapist at Volatile advises against internal use. Never experiment with this yourself! Always keep oils out of the reach of children. A number of essential oils should not be used on babies or during pregnancy.
