Choose a maximum of 2 to 3 shades lighter or darker than your current colour for the best result. Always perform an allergy test first if you are in doubt or sensitive to hair dye. Uncoloured hair can be dyed lighter or darker; coloured hair can only be dyed darker. Mix the measured amount of oxidation and hair dye in a plastic or glass bowl (no metal) until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Apply the mixture evenly from the roots, combing through if necessary. Leave the dye to work for 30 minutes (40-60 minutes for blonde hair). Rinse thoroughly and wash with an after-colour shampoo.
