China Rose Radish Sprouting Seeds
Ingredients
China Rose Radish
Usage
- Place one or two tablespoons of seeds in a preserving jar and add plenty of lukewarm water. [Any glass jar is suitable, provided it is large enough (min. 1.5 litres) and the neck does not narrow too much.]
- Secure a piece of plastic or fibreglass mesh over the jar using a strong elastic band. Preferably do not use aluminium mesh as this is sometimes treated against insects.
- Drain the water after the specified soaking time¹, rinse the seeds, and drain again.
- Place the jar upside down at an angle at room temperature in a colander, rack, or tray so that excess water can drain away.
[It is important that all water can drain away; the water clinging to the sprouts is sufficient to maintain the sprouting process. It is also important that the seeds/sprouts do not cover the entire mesh. For good results, sufficient airflow is essential. Therefore, spread the seeds/sprouts along the length of the jar after each rinse.]
Do not place the jar with seeds/sprouts on a radiator or in direct sunlight!
- Rinse the seeds/sprouts approximately three times a day during the specified growing period², and always return the jar to its angled, upside-down position.
- After the final rinse*, allow the sprouts to dry-grow in the jar (angled upside down) at room temperature for at least 18 hours before consuming or placing them in the fridge.
* If desired, the final rinse can be replaced by a 'washing process' to remove seed hulls from the sprouts.
